Tell us a little bit about “Eccentric travels”.

Eccentric travels is a group of creative minds finding ways how travel/tourism takes place in India. We are trying to build a network wherein we are integrating an offbeat travel guide into the travel social network.

What inspired the creation of “Eccentric travels”?

There is still unexpected lurking about in India vast reaches with great food to crazy royals. This was the sole idea in creation of eccentric travel. There are travelers whose choice of destination goes beyond back waters of Kerala and glitter of Taj Mahal. The ideology is to overload the rider with travel wisdom.

What is your target audience and why?

It is Just about travel and nothing else. Travel not just involves restaurants, hotels and places of attractions. If you look into a wider perspective of travel there are shops, commute services, malls and market places catering to number of tourists. Every single person or service related to travel directly or indirectly is a part of our network.From travelers who want to share their travel stories to travel business who want to promote themselves, we have space for everybody

What is unique about your company ?

There is plenty of destination specialists firm in the market, what separates us from the other firms is that we are integrating a Social network and an offbeat travel guide- making it really easy for people to be socially active travelers and help other inspire for travel.

What risk are you facing?

We have a unique idea. There are a number of bigger players in the market providing offbeat travel guides. It’s hard to compete with them initially. So we came up with a new idea. The sole risk is the wide acceptance of the idea in Indian market.

What is your greatest competitive advantage?

The greatest competitive advantage is that we have a fairly new idea and there is a place in the market for every new idea. We connect people for travel.

What has been your most effective marketing technique?

Being socially active on Twitter and Google Plus. These two platforms are the power house for marketing your products.

What outsiders have been most important to your business (eg. Mentors, bankers etc.)

Gopal Singh Karki – A Forest official and an environmentalist has been playing a role of mentor.

What is your advice to young entrepreneurs starting today?

Just don’t pursue the route to entrepreneurship because somebody else is doing the same. Become an entrepreneur when you really feel you can and you want to.

How has been your journey so far as an entrepreneur?

Taking Responsibility has been the biggest challenge. I feel that is what entrepreneurship is all about.

Where do you see yourself and your venture 5 years from now?

Finding enough space for our self in the market – Growing exponentially!
