Tight deadlines, looming presentations, heavy workloads, illness, etc are commonly observed in almost every work- line. Even if you love what you do, job stress is tough to handle. Waking up tired, checking your mail every now and then, rarely getting away from desk for lunch, running from meeting to meeting with no gap in between, insufficient sleep….all such factors takes a substantial toll on our performance!

ways you can relax at work

Let’s have a look at some of the ways you can relax at work:

START YOUR DAY WITH A BANG:

Reading is one of the finest way to start your mornings. Be it a book that’s hard to put down or a daily newspaper, it makes your journey to work fruitful and relaxing.

Listening to fun music or singing out loud in your car is another way to shake up your morning routine. It not only gives you a rush but makes you happy and all set to start your day with a Bang!

DEEP BREATHING:

HOLD ON!! Did you just skip a beat? Well, that’s what happens when you are stressed! Chill out and take a 5-minute break to breathe. Deep breathing would not only counter the effects of stress but will help you to relax.

STAY AWAY FROM YOUR GADGETS:

Tired of those never ending emails, notifications, messages, etc??? This is the time when you need to reach out, preferably face to face. Stop using your time to check social media. Get a Life!

STRETCHING:

Doing some simple stretches at your desk can help relax your body and ease tension. Upper back stretches, Shoulder shrugs and circles, Neck glide, are some of the simplest forms of stretching that can be practiced at work.

SURPRISE YOUR TEAM MATES:

Have you ever thought of starting  a meeting with an impromptu dance?? It might seem ridiculous and awkward, but it’s likely to get people laughing and feel grateful to be a part of your team. The more relaxed your people are, the more they care about coming to work.
