With the advent of various Ecommerce websites, one question that always intrigues our everyone is that are we getting the best price ?..but now after the creation of Pricetree this question will be laid to rest once and for all. So lets see what Mr Vikash helps you to get the best price always……

1. Tell us a little bit about your startup.
PriceTree is a price comparisons site for shoppers and retailers to help shoppers on finding the best price online and help retailers to monitor their competitors’ prices and optimize pricing strategies to increase revenue. PriceTree offers a vest range of products including mobiles, camera, home & kitchen appliances, books and more to compare and find the best price online and offline.

For e-commerce merchants, PriceTree is an opportunity to put your products in front of very interested buyers. These are not people perusing a virtual storefront like a window shopper at the mall, rather PriceTree users typically have already made the decision to buy and are simply looking for the best deal get the item.

In addition to showing product and price comparisons, The PriceTree can help shoppers discover new products, specification comparison, expert reviews, store reviews, nearby shop Locator, APIs, Coupons and Deals, Mobile App and many more innovative thing on the developer plate.

2. What inspired the creation of it?

I always wanted to be an entrepreneur and do something to help people in the society, and there can’t be anything more helpful then saving money out of their pocket (Compare price on PriceTree to save a lot)

3. What is your target audience and why?
Our target is every shoppers and retailers whether they are buying/selling online or offline

For Shoppers: PriceTree is the single price comparisons and coupons platform for maximum saving in online shopping

For Retailers: Price Intelligence tool and API for retailers to monitor their competitors’ prices and optimize pricing strategies to increase revenue.

4. Since now it also has a dedicated website and all, how time consuming or difficult was it to get started?

Actually I started the development from scratch, and sometimes it took entire day and night to code a module (that time Stackoverflow and Github helped me as my partner) and I never satisfy with my work and re-code to experiment and a/b test see what works and what does not works and to learn why that doesn’t works.

5.What problem does your company solve ?

For Shoppers: PriceTree is the single price comparisons and coupons platform for maximum saving in online shopping

For Retailers: Price Intelligence tool and API for retailers to monitor their competitors’ prices and optimize pricing strategies to increase revenue.

6.Who are the founders and key team members ?
Vikash Rathee, middle class jaat from Rohtak, Haryana is the Co-founder and planted this money tree (PriceTree) in July, 2014 from his flat in Delhi. Prior to the startup, Vikash has been worked with leading data and business intelligence companies (QL2 Inc, Wunderman International – Microsoft GMO and Xerox Corporation) for 6 years.

Currently we are a team of 4 members(including founder).

7.What relevant domain experience do they have ?

All of my 6 year experience is relevant to data and competitive intelligence from leading US MNCs.

8. How many hours a week do you spend on work?  What about family/hobbies?

I spent around 30 hours for PriceTree, working from my rented flat.

9. Why do you think this company can beat the competition?
We are a team of domain expertise and know our competitors better than they do.

10. Have you been in a failed start-up before?  Why did it fail?  what would you do differently?
Yes we are failed earlier

1.    pricingIndia.com : Failed because of infrastructure(Godaddy parent server was crashed and our website went offline for 3-4 days). We learnt a lesson

2.    pricingindia.in : The technology(WordPress) and domain(.in) doesn’t match with our global vision or largest price comparison website

Now PriceTree : Learned from our failed startup and now built again.

11.What is your advice to young entrepreneurs starting today?

Start building, make mistakes and learn more and then get back to build again. So the point is not to think too much if you have decided what to do. You need to make mistakes, fail and learn more to make better next time.

12. How has been your journey so far as an entrepreneur?

Actually all my PriceTree journey is funny, I was never the developer and not the coder. Even I usually thought in my college classes, why this teacher is writing 10-15 lines of C language code to write “Hello World” only. Why not just open the notepad and write the hello world

And when I was school kid and asked for pocket money, my mom always answers me with love “Paise paid(tree) pe lagte ha kya”. And see now, I planted a money tree (PriceTree)

13. Where do you see yourself and your venture 5 years from now?

We are seeing PriceTree as the most popular brand in eCommerce price intelligence and price comparison industry
